Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, General Manager - Personnel Mark Pantoni, and the Ohio State staff are working hard to have a great finish to their 2025 recruiting class. They currently have 13 class of 2025 commitments. The Buckeyes' 2025 class is the country's No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings at this point.
But there is more work to be done and some great prospects that could pick Ohio State. So, what would the ideal finish to the class look like? Bucknuts has that today based on players the Buckeyes are recruiting who have some at least reasonable chance of ending up at Ohio State.

I go position by position and come up with my ideal finish to the Buckeyes' 2025 recruiting class. These are not my predictions as to who ends up at Ohio State but based on who COULD end up a Buckeye, my ideal finish.
QUARTERBACK
The Buckeyes already have their ideal finish at quarterback with Tavien St. Clair committed. St. Clair is a candidate to end up being the No. 1 player in the country by the time the final rankings come out.
RUNNING BACK
There are a lot of running backs with an Ohio State scholarship offer. Those would be Jordon Davison, Marquise Davis, Bo Jackson, Byron Louis, Jeff Overton, Shekai Mills-Knight, Anthony Rogers and Dierre Hill. I would love to see Davis in the class, but as things currently stand, I don't see that as being realistic. So I'm going with Davison and Jackson as my two guys. I don't want to see Jackson leave the state.
WIDE RECEIVER
Like at running back, there are a lot of names on the list that have a scholarship offer from Ohio State. That includes Dakorien Moore, Vernell Brown III,Phillip Bell, Taz Williams Jr, Jaime Ffrench, Daylan McCutcheon, Quincy Porter and Andrew Marsh. I'm going with Moore, Brown and French as my ideal finish to add to the class.
TIGHT END
The Buckeyes may already have their ideal finish at tight end as they have a commitment from their No. 1 target at the position in Nate Roberts. But keep an eye on Brody Lennon or Gordy Sulfsted as an addition at H-back. But with my ideal finish, I have too many guys at other positions, so I'm going with Roberts as the only guy at tight end.
OFFENSIVE LINE
David Sanders Jr., Micah Debose, Douglas Utu, Lamont Rogers, Jayvon McFadden and Joshua Blackston are the names here at this point. The Buckeyes already have a great tackle in the class in Carter Lowe. So I'm going with Sanders Jr. to join him at tackle in the class and Utu as the interior lineman in the class.
DEFENSIVE END/EDGE
When you put the "Jack" position in with the linebackers, which I'm doing here, the Buckeyes will take two more edge players at the most. Those in the running include Damien Shanklin, Mariyon Dye, Javeon Campbell and Isaiah Gibson. I would like to have any or all of them. I don't think Gibson is particularly realistic, but I think any of the other three are. Again I would like to have them all, but space in the class doesn't allow that so I will go with Shanklin.
DEFENSIVE TACKLE
One or two defensive tackles at the most will be added to this class.Trajen Odom and Kole Briehler are the two that already have official visits to Ohio State set. Again, with spots in the class at a premium, I'm going with just one and putting Odom in my ideal class.
LINEBACKER/JACK
With two linebackers already in the class, I see one more addition plus an addition at the "Jack" position. There is no doubt in my mind my ideal "Jack" position guy is Justin Hill. My ideal addition at linebacker is Riley Pettijohn.
CORNERBACK
The Buckeyes already have commitments from three of the country's Top 10 cornerbacks including the No. 1 corner in the country in Devin Sanchez and the No. 2 corner in Na'eem Offord to go along with Blake Woodby. This is another easy one for me. Dorian Brew is the ideal addition at cornerback.
SAFETY
Safety is where things get tougher with candidates like Trey Mcnu*tt, Jonas Williams, Faheem Delane, Messiah Delhomme, Kainoa Winston and Jadyn Hudson. This is another position where I would love to have all of them. But in my ideal class, I'll go with Mcnu*tt and Delane.
